He Has Risen!

My favorite Sunday of the year is Easter Sunday, as the IVC family gets to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus together bright and early in the morning...this year marks our 9th year of doing sunrise services, followed by baptisms, and breakfast at our house!

The reality of the good news of Jesus Christ sets people free and transforms lives from the inside out...baptism is such a great expression of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ that we get to experience by faith in our risen Savior.

"Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin—because anyone who has died has been set free from sin...in the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus." (Romans 6)

After the baptisms we headed to our house for breakfast...such an epic morning, the IVC family hung out till about noon...everyday is a celebration of the risen Christ, and our participation in His resurrected life - dead to sin, alive to God in Christ Jesus!

What a wonderful way to celebrate Easter!! We, in Costa Mesa, broke bread at the Verizon Amphitheater on Friday, and had a 5:30am walk to the Amphitheater Easter morning. You were truly "immersed" in the celebration! Your home is always open to your flock...awesome! Blessings! Kay
